Your workplace may have a skills matrix that shows which people have been assessed as competent against particular workplace competencies. It might look something like the ‘Procedure training record matrix’ on the next page.
The training matrix for National Transport Services lists important workplace competencies and shows who has completed training in each of them and when. The advantage of knowing when is that you can pick the most up-to-date person.
If your workplace does not have a skills matrix, you will need to rely on your own or other supervisors’ knowledge of who has what skills.
